PENSIONSboutique Sacker & Partners reaped
the benefits of specialisation with a £2m
increase in turnover to £15.7m.
It was Sacker's first year as a limited-liability
partnership (LLP) and, according to the LLP
accounts, the firm made a net profit of £8.08m
on a profit margin of 51.3 per cent.
Of the 20 partners, 13 are in the equity and
they produced an average profit of £679,000.
The equity share-out is relatively flat, with the
highest-earning partner on £766,000.
Sacker's close focus (it acts for 40 of the top 200
pension schemes and 25 of the FTSE100) saw
it win a number of new clients in 2005-06,
including Transport for London, National Grid
and Lloyds TSB. The firm also increased its
office space by 50 per cent.
Sacker has also been successful in targeting
referrals from US firms in the UK for pensions
advice on M&A deals where the US firms do not
have the capability. That now accounts for
nearly 7 per cent of the firm's turnover.
