The London office of Steptoe & Johnson has posted a record 45 per cent surge in revenues for 2005.
Total fee income rose from $11m (£6m) to $16m (£9m) for the year ending 31 December. Firmwide revenues for 2005 stood at $258m (£144m), compared to 2004’s $233m (£130m) while average profit per partner was also up to $855,000 (£478,000) from $780,000 (£436,000). Both are increases of around 10 per cent.
Steptoe’s 14-partner London office has been in growth mode over the last year, with recent hires including former Olswang Reading head Marshall Leopold. The London office currently has 32 fee earners focused on corporate, dispute resolution, insurance, international trade, technology and real estate.
