Revealed: Shortlist for Attorney General's student pro bono awards

College of Law (CoL) has been shortlisted for best contribution by a law school in the fourth Attorney General’s Pro Bono Awards for the third year running.

Derby, Queen Mary’s and Starthclyde universities are joined in the short-list by last year’s winners CoL.

Awards organiser and LawWorks head of projects Martin Curtis said he was looking forward to introducing the shortlisted canidates to the Attorney General Baroness Scotland on 31 March at the House of Lords where she will announce the winners.

“It was another really good year with more nominations than ever before and very little to separate the best projects and people. LawWorks is grateful to the panel of judges for all the work they have put in over the past few weeks in deciding on the short list, and to all those who took the time to produce their nominations,” added Curtis.

In addition to the law school category there are three other awards, best individual, team and new pro bono activity.

The judges, who whittled down the shortlist, this year included Lawyer 2B’s editor Husnara Begum, legal education consultant at Talkinglaw Richard Grimes, vice President of the Law Society of England and Wales Bob Heslett, and head of academic development at LexisNexis Tom Laidlaw.
