North East can weather the storm

I would dearly love the Lawyer to run a follow on article. Newcastle has improved enormously and is starting to slowly catch up with other areas. The 'top notch' firms ended up wasting their chances and flattering to decieve. The Icarus like Watson Burton limited their partnership to six and for a while dominated the national PEP leagues. Ward Hadaway made big sounds about expanding but curbed plans as the recession took hold. Dickinson Dees started the new millenium as the region's prestige law firm but by 2010 they had slipped to fourth in the PEP charts, dogged by too many underperforming partners and doubts about their expertise. Eversheds remain, hoovering up the best work and passing it to their Manchester office. The economic wheel of fortune is turning, I wonder what the future holds...
