Safety first for Barclays' quest

Can't see them going with half of the internal people you mention: Mr PPI Peddie -too junior and still they are publicly annoucing increases in their PPI provisions; I suspect that they will want someone who is not tainted with all of that. Similarly, why would they let Erica Handling leapfrog over her boss Judith Shepherd? Judith Shepherd - would have been awesome, but will Jenkins risk someone who has been there for a long time acting on all the big deals? Michael Shaw - would certainly fit the description "vanilla and un-controversial" but not exactly over-flowing with charisma. Noone has mentioned Mark Chapman, GC of the retail bank - surely given the short time he has been there (and more senior than many on your list) he must be in with a fair crack.
