Stunned I am almost lost for words. As an older trainee I am glad I was not appointed on what I look like rather than my years of experience and academic success. Perhaps I should be relieved that finally Anthea has come clean - although there are anti-discriminatory laws in place ...prejudice is still rife! Beware anyone with a facial disfigurement, or those who are unique looking, or have gone bald early. Don't bother applying...or so it would appear! Fortunately, in the real world, I can confirm my firm certainly does not employ these superficial tactics in their selection process. I sit here in wonder that this article should even be published, but then reality kicks in. After all, it is not that many years ago when my grandmother was out walking the streets protesting for votes for women. I should not be surprised by this article - but I am horrified that firms are not strenuously denying it.
