Everyone who holds a pension, endowment mortgage, life insurance policy,child trust fund,or monthly savings plan with an Investment Trust or Unit trust provider needs to know that the Governments Regulatory regime will regulate British Financial Institutions and protect customers and investors.In Northern Rocks case they catastrophically failed.The Governments actions in relation to Northern Rock have hit investor confidence and led to the shunning of the rights issues carried out by institutions that need to recapitalise, by institutional and private investors.Who is going to invest in British Companies if the Government can confiscate shareholders equity without compensation,return the company to the private sector when economic conditions have improved and keep the profits?That is why this case is so important.
