Female partners defy glass ceiling in record numbers

Hours culture The reason that it's the UK 100's smaller firms that have more female partners is that they don't have the same exhausting, long-hours culture suffered by those in the magic circle and others. This isn't a question of talent or of discrimination, it's about whether or not lawyers are able to stay at work till late at night, and as more women that men still look after the kids, fewer can commit in that way as a result.
