Trainee solicitors overtake bankers

Sampling methodology I am sure that for a significant proportion of trainees who are offered contracts by magic circle and other major City based firms the pickings have increased and things may never have been better, but let's not get this out of proportion. City salaries skew the sample significantly. It would be more interesting to get a view as to the minimum salaries on offer and the extent to which these have been subject to increase (or decrease) over the last two to three years. Training contracts are still a very limited and very precious commodity and as such salary levels outside of the larger employers are driven downwards by short supply. it is still easier technically to qualify as a solicitor if one holds the BVC.
