In this environment you need to apply to as many firms as possible to increase your chances of a TC - if you are not in you can't win. Applying twice - what's the worst that can happen? Rejection a second time. Agree the "sample" application was riddled with obviious basic mistakes. I would think this is of limited use to most. I think the key is to demonstrate (somehow) that: (i) you have researched the firm and that (ii) you really want to work for that firm becuase fo XYZ (this involves reading the recruitment literature for the firm in question and working out what they say is unique about their firm and cross-matching that to your application). Think about it - firms want to know why you chose law and why you want to work for them. Obviously the things to look at are the size of the firm, the type of deals they do, the client base, the work ethic, the structure of the training programme offered etc. ...
