Females still not being promoted The stark difference between male and female promotions is not only deeply depressing for any female entering the profession, but is still highly indicative of the questionable discrepancy in attitudes given that 60% of all Law Society finals students are women. No wonder that almost a third of them leave in their 30s! What is the point staying in a profession where their chances of being anything other than a drudge, working very long hours simply earning loads of money for the partners with little prospect of ever becoming one themselves? Why stay?
