Re last Comment I think Greg is being a bit harsh and missing the point by highlighting a couple of typo's on Davens' message. This is a serious issue if only because the Bar Council constantly talking about opening up the profession to a diverse rather than niche portion of the public, however Chambers are not looking to exploit the life skills and experience that non-tradtional pupils would offer. That is down to the demise of non-funded pupillage opportunities and that Chambers like to recruit in their own image; Middle-class, academically slanted. The frustrating thing about this is that the Bar is a vocational career, not an academic exercise, and despite not being tutored to pass exams at my school, I know for a fact that I could do a much better job for any chambers than a 23 year graduate with no life experience outside of their middle class bubble. So people in my situation have to work that bit harder, but there is nothing new in that - I have been fighting all my life.
