From here to maternity

Solicitors and Maternity I wish my employers had been more direct with me when I initially indicated a desire to return to work part time after my maternity leave period was coming to an end. It came as a big surprise when I was told that I could only return part time for a minimum period (i.e. if I returned early from maternity it could be accommodated yet once the maternity leave period had ended, the "Department" could not allow part time working practices) It made me feel that all the work and input I had made previously was irrelevant. I was also disappointed that I was not even allowed to try it out and see how it worked out for both myself, the clients and other staff.... Your article may have assisted in dealing with this issue more tactfully!
