How to survive: assessment days

I attended an assessment day for a private manufacturing firm in Yorkshire and was treated to a 'French Farce' of a day. I had never attended one before and was so disappointed. I dont believe the Company acquired the best from the candidates as the day was fraught with delays and agenda changes, the 'heleprs' didnt know how to complete their own psychomettric tests and these people set themselves up as experts in their fields!!! A full 9 hours later after numerous psychometrics tests, interviews, role play, presentations etc etc we were ALL promised feedback which I am still chasing for 3 weeks later. The Company delivering this assessment day were unprofessional and inadequate, the Company hiring them to deliver this asessment day must have been disappointed and the candiates also for the waste of a day as I personally learnt nothing. Assessment days are useful when delivered properly.
