Pupillage rejections - second time lucky?

Comment

Just make sure that you have learned from your interviews. Also, it won't be toxic to reapply to the same chambers who rejected you and in fact quite the opposite: although I want to become a solicitor, I have also done court work and a mini-pupillage (I want to eaern higher audience rights too) and the family law barrister I shadowed told me how his chambers had accepted a former applicant that year because of her persistence, dedication to that chambers and her obvious attention to and working on their feedback from previous rejections. Perhaps if you got little in the way of individual feedback, identify those likely to interview you and any QC's in that chambers and pick out any high profile cases they have represented; pay special attention to the Judge(s) and Court(s) involved and points of law stemming from them. That shows dedication to those who will be mentoring you. It certainly won't harm your application and may well help impress. From what I know of the Bar you have done exceptionally well to even get pupillage interviews directly after completing the BPTC so do not be too hard on yourself!
