Completely agree with the comment in the article regarding knocking on doors and making your own opportunities. Using links from business and family contacts you have to those in the legal profession, finding their email address and sending a polite request to have coffee and understand their world a lot more on the most tenuous of links - it really helps. As a mature twenties career changer I absolutely know that these conversations led to me landing a training contract within 3 months of choosing to go for the change. Business operates on human relationships no matter the profession.
