Headline

Withey exits Rangers trial as intervener application dropped

Comment

Withey will only have withdrawn his application to be joined as a defendant if Collyer Bristow (or, in reality, its insurers) had agreed not to refuse to indemnify him or try to recoup an adverse judgment from him. That being so, it should be a big "well done" to Will Glassey at Mayer Brown, no doubt ably assisted by John Wardell, for achieving a position that meant that Withey did not have to get involved as a party. Have had the pleasure of working with both over the years and two better professional liability litigation strategists it is almost impossible to find.
