The rights stuff in oil islands now

China recently bullied the Philippines over ownership of the tiny islands of Scarborogh Shoal (some 100 miles from the former US Subic Naval Base in the Philippnes and almost 500 miles from mainland China). It was not uncommon for Amercian aviators from Subic and Clark Air Base to use Scarborogh Shoal as a firing range for their ordnance. Funny how China did not protest such actions back then if they truly had historic jurisdiction over the area.
