"Herbies drops Virgin West Coast JR bid"? Really? The DfT hoisted the white flag before they went in to defend the JR bid. A total balls up and admission of defeat, as every other paper and website confirms. In what editorial universe does this sequence of events translate to a headline of Virgin 'dropping' its JR bid? Virgin/Herbert Smith are the winners here; they didn't 'drop' anything. Bizarre reporting.
