HMRC launches task force to target tax-dodging London lawyers

I am an accountant who has acted for barristers for a number of years. from my experience ther are a number of barristers that either fail to register for tax or submit late returns. regarding the barristers who fail to register I had a conversation with HMRC at least 20 years ago. They were aware of the situation and of course the names of the barristers in each chambers are clearly displayed on boards outside chambers. They chose to do nothing. Why now?
