Funding for BPTC

The Inns of Court have scholarships, but they don't normally cover the full costs of the course, let alone living expenses. You can only apply to 1 inn. The deadline is normally around November in the year before you commence the BPTC. Funding options are few and the Bank of mum and dad seems to be the most popular. It's all very well to say "don't start the course until you have pupillage lined up", but many sets have interviews slanted towards those who have completed the BPTC (how else would you know how to do a plea in mitigation?) and some seem to implicitly prefer those who have made the commitment in advance.
