Nice article summarising the recent "mergers" in the Oz market. UK/US firms have been looking at merging with Aussie firms for ages - at least the last 12 years. So why now? 1. Australian economy is actually still growing 2. Aussie economy is locked into growing economies eg China, India I also agree with your point regarding the high Aussie dollar. That one will be interesting to follow up in case the UK/European economies ever recover!
