What with the Barclays Brothers fiasco it's not been a good week for poor old Herbies. I hope Burges Salmon get their bill in quickly, as I suspect the First Group bid will be unsustainable. When I heard some boneheaded minister on the news last night utter the dread words "This is an excellent deal for the taxpayer" I started wondering how long it would be before this became another East coast main line story.
