I am not sure what the judging criteria were, but surely being in the press should not be one of them, as said of Mr. Jay QC, particularly as it is the press he is supposedly holding to account. There are many who believe he was not up to the job of lead counsel for this Inquiry, having no knowledge of media law. This has caused problems in the Inquiry. He knows so little about media law that the newspaper lawyers have been running circles around him. He once referred to Associaed Newspapers as Associated Press
