Vacation scheme do's and don'ts

I am trying to help a black caribbean girl in Year 10 (15/16 years old) get 1 - 2 weeks work experience from the 2nd July. Her mother is single and there is no father on the scene. She has no idea about how to go about getting work experience as Twyford offer very little support with this despite it being compulsory for all pupils in Year 10 at the beginning of July.
