White & Case puts partner billing in the spotlight

This reminds me of the famous Steve Martin routine, "How to Be a Millionaire. First, get a million dollars." Telling partners to bill more hours without addressing how to get the business to enable that is just silly, and could lead clients to fear that partners under such pressure might be tempted to pad the bill. The elephant in the room is that the billable hours aren't legitimately available. If they were, the partners would do the work and bill the hours. It's not like they're sitting around refusing billable work. Duh.
