Supreme Court hears solicitor's age claim

What can be the point of such a claim? If he had still been producing the goods the other partners wouldn't have wanted him to retire anyway, so the claim would never have arisen. If he wasn't then he could have been booted out of the partnership on performance gounds irrespective of his age. And I, as a taxpayer, strongly object to the EHRC hiring QC's at my expense to support such pointless claims.
