DWF-Cobbetts: fit for purpose?

"problems, which include multiple redundancy rounds, declining profit and rising debt, .... overenthusiastic expansion ....and an inability to reinvent itself in a drastically changed legal market." There are many regional firms which have the same problems. We've seen such issues claim Halliwells. It'll be interesting if Cobbetts gamble of a 'merger' with DWF pays off. I wonder if their staff are in a better position in two years time than similar Northern practices like Watson Burton or Dickinson Dees.
