Simmons ranks in Stonewall's gay-friendly employers top 10

Many congratulations to Simmons on their continued success. As David Stone says in the article, this is an area where law firms should give heartfelt applause to one another’s achievements and look to see where we can learn from one another’s best practices. For our own part, Linklaters has been working closely with Stonewall for the last two years and we are really pleased with the advances that we have made to date in ensuring that we are (and are seen as) a gay-friendly employer. We took part in the Equality Index exercise for the first time this year (I think I am right in saying that we were the only magic circle firm to do so) and I am delighted that we were ranked 10th amongst law firms in our debut year. Equally as importantly, our engagement in the survey has helped us to identify areas where we need to focus our attention in the next year so that we can improve our ranking further next year.
