@billy childish yes, apparently there was some kind of restrictive covenant in place. If they'd left immediately after the merger they would not have been allowed to join rival firms/set up their own for three years. That particular term has lapsed now apparently, so hence the decision to move- which I agree is a fantastic one. Reed Smith in Hong Kong going nowhere. No creativity, ambition, drive.
