David Jones assumes that the only people to attend the World Cup are (a) Brits and (b) people who drink to excess. Who would have ever thought that people from other parts of the World or people who are not members of the EDF might attend? Alcohol is served at many events in the Middle East. This is either tastefully done (e.g. Formula One) or bastions of under-age drinking, fighting and the spread of STDs (e.g. the infamous Rugby Sevens in Dubai).
