Some of your questions I can answer. It’s necessary to have a Law degree, and usually it takes 5 years in college. The Bar Exam (Exame de Ordem) is divide in 2 parts, first you do an exam answering 100 questions about brazilian's law, those are A,B,C,D,E questions, and you need to score 50%, than you are able to do the second exam, its usually a petition in the subject you choose (constitutional law, work law, civil law, criminal law, tax law), you must do it in portuguese, and you need to score 70% of it. (I did mine in Tax Law). The judges decide according to the Codes and Laws, but the Supreme Court (Supremo Tribunal Federal)create precedents and interpretations of the law (súmulas). About the salary it's paid in Reais and it's a bit difficult to answer, because the living cost here are different, but to have an idea it's about U$ 3,000.00 to a Junior. And there are many prep courses to the Bar Exam. There are normal classes, internet and satellite courses to prepare you to the Exam.
