I would love to see a comparison between where the top 100 firms were positioned 15yrs ago and now. That would show the partners who've under-performed when in charge of good firms and those who have the midas touch. I think it would show that the Leeds and Manchester firms were far ahead of their time in terms of spotting business opportunities whereas Bristol and Newcastle firms were slow to act. Obviously very much generalising by city but the statistics would be revealing.
