Why is this newsworthy? He's far from the first. That said, I think its quite a good idea. I have one, and know of several others. Many TC Hunters blog about legal issues too. I doubt any firm will stumble across a student's musings and be so impressed as to offer a training contract, but at least if you've written a blog about a trend or legal issue you will have a more fluid answer to such a question at interviews.
