The Lawyer UK 200 preview: Profit margin: Profitability still a key indicator of success

The headline is probably one of the most obvious I've ever read in the trade press. But one thing that's clearly missing from the figures are debt levels and leverage. Firms can be making profits all they like (and bizarrely, remove profit every year to disperse amongst equity partners - awful business management). However it's the debt level that we need to be concerned with.
