BLM partner appointed to head CJC group on Jackson reforms

Comment

Of Mr Kinley BLM states: "Mr Kinley joined BLM in 2006 after 10 years at the Association of British Insurers, where he led policy development on topics including civil justice and liability insurance. His role at the law firm encompasses engagement with government departments and regulators on key issues and consultations affecting the firm and its clients." "His work here has reinforced how we help our clients and engage on the key policy issues in their sector — such as the Jackson reforms. It is important that the firm takes part fully in these debates and that it takes advantage of the changing structures allowed by the Act so we make the best use of market opportunities." Surely his role at BLM, to "help our clients...make best use of market oportunities" creates a massive conflict? Stinks indeed!
