Ashurst seals best-friends deal with India Law Partners

Some very strange goings on at Ashurst. They've mucked around for years re India - how much partner time has that wasted compared to fees generated ? - and now are seeking to jump on the Australia bandwagon too apparently. They're haemmoraghing money in the States having been suckered with that third rate structured finance team. Meanwhile a decade ago they allowed the deal that could have cemented their position in the legal firmament alongside the magic circle globally - the Latham merger - to slip through their hands. Given the numerous strategic missteps under successive management regimes and their comparatively weak financial performance I predict that the Ashurst exodus starts soon. The headhunters will have a field day.
