Olswang cancels trainee recruitment scheme, defers 2011 intake

The Olswang trainee I know spent about 30 minutes on her application form - it isn't the most demanding of forms. Why the sense of entitlement from so many people looking for a training contract? A firm has to put its own fortunes ahead of its annual trainee recruitment drive or there'll be no firm to train at. It's a little concerning that the firm appears to be finding conditions difficult but surely potential applicants realise that the firm wouldn't have spent money on university careers events, often sending key partners to universities, if it had no intention to recruit.
