A&O posts 88 per cent NQ retention figure

Although these figures look good on the face of things, it would be better to see a more informative comparative year an year analysis of them, i.e. how many total trainees there were at each firm year on year, rather than blindly taking it as writ that the figures are an improvement on previous years just by reference to percentages. Given the number of hopefuls out there retention rates aren't everything to them if the total number of trainees ihas dropped to match reduced demand.
