A really bold and innovative move for a local authority(s) wishing to trade in their legal functions would be to acquire all or part of a law firm already providing commercial expertise to public sector clients using an ABS arrangement. That would enable them to compete on a level playing field and utilise the combination of skills as a platform to grow a new 'superbrand' for public sector work...
