Direct contact between GC and chambers skyrockets

I don't believe that the issue in failing to insrtuct the Bar directly was ever lack of confidence, as the article states As a former GC who made several attempts over the years to deal directly with various barristers, the main issues were that the Bar was not user friendly, not sufficiently responsive, rarely met agreed deadlines, and it was tedious trying to get past the clerks, behind whom the barristers sheltered when they failed to deliver as agreed. I was let down once too often and eventually gave up in despair but am glad to see things have seemingly changed for the better.
