@Anoymous at 4.37pm: The expansion of the firm a direct result of a contraction? Please clarify your logic. Lathams did what it needed to do to stay afloat and it treated the staff that it cut very well with some of the most generous severance packages across the AM100 and Magic Circle. Since that very sad episode, the firm's results have shown that it has recovered very strongly and it remains a very pleasant place to work. In fact, the laterals have commented that it's much better than the other top-end firms that they'd come from.
