Taylor Wessing: partner hiring spree will not hinder internal promotions

A bigger issue is the established practice at TW of largely only promoting associates who have joined as recent lateral hires. Of course, there are honourable exceptions, but it would have been interesting if the above story had counted the number of partner promotions over the last 5 years where the associates had been at the firm for over 18 months before being made up - must be less than 50%.
