Brazil comes of age

Definately the scenary in Brazil has completely changed in this last decades, and it´s still changing. However, the opportunities for newly-formed lawyers or junior lawyers are very few comparing to other areas as engineering and medicine. I have graduated in law about 1 year ago and haven´t been hired since then. The market is very competitive and your skills are never enough. The best area for specialisation, at the present moment, is Oil and Gas, due to the new oil wells discovered by Petrobras mainly in Rio de Janeiro. The IP area is also a very interesting and disputed area, but also very restricted. In both areas you need to be extremely well qualified, and it happens for very obvious reasons. It is also very important to call attention to the World cup and olympic games impacts on the economy and also in the companies interests in Brazil, and probably that´s a new area to focus.
