Does The Lawyer have something against this firm? "Last week’s story (12 July) analysing the results of Allen & Overy (A&O), Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters underlined how the magic circle has pulled away from the rest of the UK market." These firms have not "pulled away" from Slaughters. They have not even caught up or got particularly close to catching up. No, I don't work there. As for the "silver circle" - their success was down to riding a credit bubble, pure and simple. Now the bubble has burst and the party is over. Bye bye easy credit, bye bye private equity and property booms, bye bye silver circle.
