Sets see rise in turnover in wake of litigation upsurge

Comment

I wonder just how informative bare turnover is given that it is directly affected by numbers added or subtracted from chambers in a given year. Of course the work still has to flow through, however some of this will be attributable to the 'following' brought by new members. A decline in turnover may be a good thing for individual members if their personal incomes are up from the previous year. Another factor is overhead and net income after contributions - are chambers investing in their future? Chambers are a relatively closed book of course so one must deduce what one can from what information can be provided. One must remember that members of chambers generally do not know what others earn - usually only Head of Chambers, Clerks and other administrative management are privvy to such information.
