We all know how the "real" world works and the type of animal that makes a lot of money often at the expense of others. This precisely why the legal profession should be kept independent of business and Tesco law scrapped. Clearly some kind of regulatory reform is needed for the banks but do not lose sight of the fact that we need real world bankers who can succeed in the real world. The city is an excellent centre for financial services and we should not forget America's role in the bank crisis - sub-prime mortgages etc. I hope the real world is represented at any talks about regulation.
