Opinion: Dubai moves to establish insolvency legislation model

The author would do well to read Practice Direction 1 of 2010 issued by the Special Tribunal for Dubai World. The PD states that it will be the policy of the tribunal to uphold arbitration clauses and that the tribunal expects parties to fulfill contractual obligations. Whilst this is by no means an iron clad guarantee that arbitration clauses will be upheld, given that it is described as a policy to respect these, the Tribunal has allayed some concerns in this respect
