In Uganda, we appreciate the discovery of oil in Uganda. But the fears in the community is how the government has handled information flow. It is not easy getting information especially in regard to Production Sharing Agreements. Apparently there is already a court case to compell the government to disclose. Ofcourse most Ugandans are waiting at the downstream production level where service industries could come in. many corporate law firms and other lawyers are positioning themselves to take on the challenge. The fundamental question is whether Uganda is equipped to avert the 'oil curse' sydrome that seems to be perpetual in most oil countries especially in Africa
