BLP’s deal with Thames Water creates non-City platform

Comment

It will be interesting to see how many of the lawyers BLP manage to retain. Moving from being in-house at a blue chip client, managing City law firms on multi-$bn projects, to becoming a second-class private-practice lawyer for a firm like BLP will be seen as quite a step down. BLP will have to work hard to keep them (and speaking as an in-houser, money is not the motivator it would be in private practice - otherwise, why leave private practice in the first place?).
